Apply for 2009-2010 Scholarships
Scholarships opportunities are rolling in for the 2009-2010 school year. The Women’s Opportunity Award is a scholarship for women who provide the primary financial support for their families and who are enrolled in or have been accepted to a vocational/skills training program or an undergraduate degree program. For information on applying for this award, drop by Enrollment Services.
Plan on attending the University of Missouri next fall? If so we’ve got news for you. The Mizzou Flagship Scholarship is up for grabs, worth up to $15,000, and it’s renewable! Applicants must be from one of the following Missouri counties: Clark, Audrain, and Marion. Individuals must submit a scholarship application online that is due by December 1st. The U.S. Bank Internet Scholarship Program is awarding thirty $1,000 scholarships. These are awarded to high school seniors, so if you know anyone wanting to come to SCC next year, tell them! Scholarships are awarded in a random drawing; no essay and no minimum GPA is required. Apply online at usbank.com/studentbanking through February.

7 X 7 Classes Offered Over Break
Fall behind this semester? Don’t panic, pick up an extra 3 credits over the upcoming Christmas break. 7X7 classes are a great way to catch up or get ahead. 7 days times 7 hours earns you 3 credits! Classes being offered are:
HIS -151 U.S. History to 1877 PSY-111 Introduction to Psychology SOC-110 Introduction to Sociology Classes are from 8:30 a.m. - 4:05 p.m. on December 29th, 30th, 31st and January 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th. See an Enrollment Specialist today to register. Space is limited, so hurry!
Time to Register For Spring Classes!
Registration for the Spring 2009 classes is already underway. Make an appointment to see an Enrollment Specialist now! Don’t wait until all the prime sections are filled up for the class you really need. Schedules are available online at the SCC website or in Enrollment Services. Get a move on!
‘Tis the Season to Scholarship Hunt
The latest and greatest scholarship information can be found on the SCC Website at www.scciowa.edu. Then click on "Current Students." On the left side of the page you will find a financial aid link and under that scholarships. There you’ll find a variety of scholarships put together for students. Don’t procrastinate, apply now!
Graduating in December?
If you are planning to graduate at the end of the fall semester, you need to pick up a request to graduate form in Enrollment Services, complete it, and return it as soon as possible. If you do not fill out a request to graduate form, you will not receive a diploma! The ceremony for the Fall ‘09 graduates will be held in May of 2009. If you have any questions, contact the Assistant Registrar, Deanna Church, in Enrollment Services.
