The Mediapolis Bullettes won their second consecutive match in the Northern Division of the Southeast Iowa Super Conference as they swept three straight games at Wapello on September 12. Mepo won decisively in all three games, winning 15-2, 15-3 and 15-3.
The Bullettes started slowly in the first game and trailed 1-0 after four rotations. Eventually they tied the score and built a 4-1 advantage on kills by Margaret Kuenzler and Brenna Nelson and a block by Nelson.

They led 6-2 when Sarah Schulte stepped to the service stripe. Schulte served seven straight points with two aces. Kuenzler had a kill and Nelson two kills and a block during the run. Ashlei Jandrey and Ashlee Baker ended the game with consecutive kills following serves by Kuenzler.

In the second game, the Bullettes bolted to an 11-0 lead. Kuenzler and Meta Kramer each contributed a pair of aces to the early blitz. Kuenzler also had two kills during the run. Jo Kester and Schulte added aces as the Bullettes closed out the 15-3 win. In the game, Mediapolis missed only one serve in 26 tries.

The Arrows battled in the early part of the final contest, but were last tied at 2-2. Three kills by Kuenzler and one by Jandrey propelled the Bullettes to an 8-2 advantage. An ace by Kester, kills by Kuenzler and Baker and blocks by Kester and Jandrey ended the game and the match.

The Bullettes served 70 of 74 (95%) with 10 aces in the match. Schulte was 20 of 20 with four of the aces. Kramer was 11 of 11 with two aces, while Kuenzler was nine of nine and also had two aces.

Kuenzler led in kills with 11. Nelson, Jandrey and Baker added five each. Jandrey had 26 assists. Leading the defense were Nelson who added six blocks to her resume and Kramer who led in digs with five. Jandrey and Baker added four digs each.

Mediapolis head coach Dennis Jandrey seemed pleased with his squad's overall performance. "Walking away, I would have to say I was pleased. When we got the opportunities on our side of the net we took care of it. Right at the start we weren't very sharp, but we were pretty good the rest of the way," Jandrey said.

He was especially happy with the performance of Kuenzler and Nelson. "Kuenzler hit the ball very well and Nelson played well in the middle," Jandrey said.
The win improved the Bullettes overall season match record to 2-2-1.
