Respiratory Care Program

The clinical experience is one of the most important elements in any respiratory therapist program. Southeastern is proud to be affiliated with these fine hospitals.

Great River Medical Center--West Burlington, Iowa
Genesis Medical Center--Davenport, Iowa
University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics--Iowa City, Iowa
Mercy Hospital--Iowa City, Iowa
Fort Madison Community Hospital--Fort Madison, Iowa
Galesburg Cottage Hospital--Galesburg, Illinois
OSF St. Mary--Galesburg, Illinois
Henry County Health Center--Mt. Pleasant, Iowa
Keokuk Area Hospital--Keokuk, Iowa

Students spend 960 hours in clinic during four semesters. Students rotate between different units and/or hospitals every one to two weeks.

The clinical curriculum can be summarized as follows:

RC Clinic II: Two 8 hour days per week for 15 weeks (first year, spring semester)
RC Clinic III: One 8 hour day per week for 8 weeks (first year, summer semester)
RC Clinic IV: Two 8 hour days per week for 15 weeks (second year, fall semester)
RC Clinic V: Two 10.5 hour days per week for 15 weeks (second year, spring semester.)
